1.2230 The Role of the Principle of Fire in Heraclitus' Theory of the Soul.
This paper discusses Heraclitus' views that the soul was perceived as being fire by Heraclitus. As well, there was the idea that just as fire was extinguished when it became water, so life ended when the soul became wet. Conflict had to exist for us to perceive the notion of good, and therefore to understand the concept of God. In this way, we could perhaps clean our soul in order to achieve the afterlife. 5 pgs. 0 f/c. 0b.

3.1842 The Genesis Myth and Darwin's Science: A Comparative Study
After the publication of Darwin's The Origin of Species in 1859, many have looked upon the book of Genesis as a myth that no longer tells us anything of real importance about our beginnings or our selves. In this paper I want to show that empirical thought is not the only legitimate means of obtaining an authentic understanding of our origins; that as a mythic narrative The Holy Bible also offers us a true and valid account of our beginnings. Today, most scholarship tends to focus on the differences between science and religious myth, and often forgets that both disciplines share the same agenda. 8 pgs. 21 f/c. 7b.

7.4150 The Man of Law's Tale.
This paper examines The Man of Law's Tale in the context of Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The paper shows that the tale is similar to the other tales in that it portrays a story that is highly improbable, with many bizarre developments occurring completely by chance. The tale is also unique and clearly distinguishable from the other tales in that it does not deal in sarcasm, but holds up certain values in a respectable way. 8 pgs. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
